Tiffany and Bobbie together again

By GORDON HATHAWAY

Mr. Tiffany Jones and Mr. Bobbie Callicoatte returned to New Dimensions on Sunday evening, October 18.

The show's opening number was a tribute to Carol Burnett (Tiffany) and Julie Andrews (Bobbie) at Carnegie Hall.

Tiffany welcomed all of us, especially those who had seen the show 55,000 times and noted that the fliers advertising the show listed him as "staring" rather than "starring."

He warned the crowd he would be performing the "tear jerkers" that Clevelanders so love.

If you've never been to a Playboy Club, Bobbie's rendition of Geraldine the Bunny, complete with white cottontail, made you feel you were there. Bobbie also performed numbers by Della Reese and Vikki Carr and a medley by Melba Moore including "Hair," "Is It True Blondes Have More Fun" and "Purlie."

Dressed in white chiffon, Tiffany's first solo for the evening was "Morning Train" by Sheena Easton, which proved popular with the audience. Dressed in brown slip. Tiffany also performed a series of comedy numbers using the audience as participants.

One surprised male was pulled from his chair and dragged to the stage where Tiffany spread his legs in the air scissor-style. She also proceeded to remove his shoes and got "high" on smelling his feet, much as one does on poppers. Another of Tiffany's comedy numbers saw her banging her anatomy on the stage, chanting something "vaguely Hawaiian.”

A rendition of Glady's Knight's "You're The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me" was one of the few "tear Jerkers" Tiffany had promised to the audience. She performed this well, dressed in a beaded beige gown.

One of the evening's show stoppers was Tiffany's ever-popular skating nun number, a medley of "Dominique," Dionne Warwick's "I Say A Little Prayer for you," and the Manhattan Transfer's "Operator."

Another show stopper was Bobbie's version of "Hello Dolly" by Pearl Bailey. Bobbie's peach colored satin dress and large hat were stunning.

"And All That Jazz" from Chicago was the closing duet for the evening with Bobbie and Tiffany performing as Gwen Verdon and "Chita Rivera. Tiffany ther announced that this would be their last concert together for awhile. After the show they would be on the road without each other.

Tiffany closed the show with Dionne Warwick's rendition of "1 Did it my Way." It was good to see Tiffany back in Cleveland again. With Bobbie, they make a dynamic performing team, Hopefully, they will be back in Cleveland someday-together again.
